Residents Invited to free healthy ageing and winter wellbeing events
Residents are being encouraged to take advantage of two free community events this autumn designed to support health, wellbeing and social connection.

Delivered at two locations in the north of St Helens Borough through the council's One Neighbourhood Programme, the events will bring together a range of local organisations and services to provide practical advice, information and support for people of all ages.
Celebrating Healthy Ageing
To mark the International Day of Older Persons, Community Hub North will host a special Celebrate Healthy Ageing event on Wednesday 30 September from 10am to 2pm.
Organised in partnership with St Helens Library Service and the North Primary Care Network, the event is aimed at older residents, carers and those who may be vulnerable to health and wellbeing challenges.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet a range of local support services, including the Library Home Delivery Service, Willowbrook Outreach Service, Fraud Awareness Team, Fall Prevention Service and Affordable Warmth Team. Representatives will be available throughout the day to offer advice, guidance and information about available support and referral pathways.
One of the highlights of the event will be the arrival of House of Memories On The Road, Liverpool's unique mobile museum experience. The interactive vehicle transforms into an immersive cinema and activity space, allowing visitors to explore sights, sounds and memories from St Helens' past through engaging reminiscence activities designed to spark conversation and connection.
The free event is open to everyone, including family members, carers and residents interested in learning more about healthy ageing. Refreshments will be available throughout the day.
Warm, Well and Active in Seneley Green and Garswood
And later this autumn, building on the focus on community wellbeing, the council's Library Service and Public Health team will host Warm, Well and Active in Seneley Green and Garswood on Wednesday 28 October from 10am to 2pm at Garswood Community Hall.
The event aims to help local residents prepare for the winter months by providing access to advice, support and activities that promote health, safety and wellbeing.
A range of local organisations, including Family Hubs, the Stop Smoking Service, Affordable Warmth and Torus Foundation, will be attending to offer practical guidance and information. The Library Outreach Team will also be on hand with a selection of cosy reads and information about local library services.
Attendees can take part in a guided autumn wellbeing walk led by the Wellbeing Service, highlighting the benefits of staying active and connecting with nature. Dr Bike will also be available throughout the day, offering free bicycle servicing and safety checks.
The event is free and open to all ages, including families, carers and older residents.
Visitors can enjoy warming refreshments, meet others from their local community and find out more about the support available to help them stay healthy, safe and connected throughout the winter, with the council's wider Winter Well programme launching soon.
