Call for community support to clean up every ward
We're calling on communities to come together to support our new programme that will see council services target every ward in the borough.

The area blitz will see a different ward selected to undergo intensive works to make the environment in the area noticeably better by bringing together council teams, councillors and community groups all doing their bit to improve the area.
Councillor Michael Gibson, Deputy Leader of St Helens Borough Council and Cabinet Member for Waste and Environment, said: "Everyone wants to feel proud of where they live. That means when they look around their community they want to feel safe and see a clean, welcoming environment. This way of working, through community blitzes, is a way for us to empower you. We want you to work with us identify and to address the spots that need some care. It's a chance for everyone to come together to make a difference through a new way of community working.
"Ahead of each ward visit our team will review the area and we need your help to tell us where you think needs a clean-up by reporting your grot spots to us. The blitz teams will be looking at things like gully clearing, graffiti removal, hedge and grass trimming, litter picking, sign cleaning and kerb and pothole repairs among many others."
The first area blitz will target West Park and is set to start on Monday 21st September and the schedule for each ward will see the works continue into Spring 2027.
