Three playgrounds will benefit from £270,000 investment
Three playgrounds across St Helens Borough will benefit from £270,000 in investment over the next two years.

The Duckeries in Parr, Nanny Goat Children's Play Area in Peasley Cross and Fingerpost, and King George V Grange Park Children's Play Area in West Park will all benefit from the Playground Funds scheme funded by UK Government.
Welcoming the investment Councillor Michael Gibson said: "Playgrounds are truly at the heart of a community, a place where children can be active, build their social skills and most importantly have fun, which are all essential to providing children with a good start in life. For parents and carers they offer free entertainment on the doorstep and we all have a role to play in looking after these vital places for families to enjoy.
"This funding will go towards revamping three playgrounds in our borough over the next two years and supporting the communities around them in Parr, Peasley Cross and Fingerpost and West Park to continue to provide those spaces with safe, accessible equipment for all."
The playgrounds were selected as part of the scheme's call for playgrounds in areas with greater needs to help support the work to address inequalities in communities.
All three parks will undergo upgrades to the existing play equipment, alongside the installation of new playground equipment, with a focus on making all three playgrounds more inclusive.
The funding will be split equally between 2026/27 and 2027/28 years and the council will now draw up a timetable for the works to be completed.
