Article date: 10 July 2026
Residents across St Helens are invited to attend a free Dementia Information and Support Day on Tuesday 14 July 2026, bringing together local organisations dedicated to supporting people living with dementia, their families, friends and carers.
The event will take place at South Community Hub, formerly Chester Lane Hub and Library, from 10.30am to 3.30pm. Hosted by the Healthy Neighbours Project, part of St Helens Wellbeing and City Health Care Partnership, and funded by Torus Foundation, the day will offer practical information, advice and opportunities to meet local services making a difference across the borough.
Visitors will be able to speak with specialists, volunteers and community groups, discover dementia-friendly activities, and find out about support groups, volunteering opportunities and wellbeing services available locally.
Organisations attending include Alzheimer's Society, Age UK, House of Memories and St Helens Transport Museum, alongside a range of local partners working together to help create a more dementia-friendly St Helens.
Whether someone has recently received a dementia diagnosis, is caring for a loved one, or simply wants to learn more about supporting friends, neighbours or relatives living with dementia, everyone is welcome to attend.
Denise Westhead, Healthy Neighbours Wellbeing Worker, said: "Living with dementia can feel overwhelming, but no one should have to face it alone. This event is about bringing our community together and showing people the incredible network of support that exists here in St Helens.
"We want people to leave feeling informed, reassured and connected, knowing where they can turn for help, advice and friendship."
The Dementia Information and Support Day will also celebrate the organisations working together to make St Helens a more inclusive and dementia-friendly borough, helping people remain active, connected and supported within their own communities.
