St Helens town centre is lit up thanks to two traditional Christmas trees supplied by St Helens based Rainford's farm and Christmas trees and funded with support from VINCI Building and their supply chain partner Murraywood Construction Ltd.
VINCI Building are the main contractor on the St Helens town centre regeneration programme, which is being delivered by St Helens Borough Council and its regeneration partner ECF - a venture between Homes England, Muse and L&G.
The trees are situated in Church Square and Victoria Square and will be lit up daily throughout the Christmas period.
Councillor Richard McCauley, Cabinet Member for Regeneration at St Helens Borough Council, said: "We are grateful to VINCI Building for their continued support and commitment to giving back to St Helens Borough throughout the town centre regeneration programme. Major progress has been made on the works this year and it is vital we remind residents and visitors that the town centre remains open throughout the construction period and that we are ready to welcome them. These Christmas trees are a fantastic way to show that and allow our residents to enjoy the festive period."
Martin Horton, Senior Project Manager at Vinci Building said: "We're delighted to support St Helens Council with a contribution towards the Christmas trees in St Helens town centre and hope that they bring festive joy to the community and an uplift to local businesses."
Richard Rainford owner of Rainford's farm and Christmas trees said: "As a local business we are once again proud to supply the Christmas trees for St Helens town centre. We have been supplying the trees for around thirty years and every year it is a pleasure to see them take centre stage in the place we call home, celebrating community spirit and delivering a festive boost to local businesses and residents."
