Majority of parents and carers in St Helens Borough secure preferred primary school place on National Offer Day
More than 97 per cent of parents and carers in St Helens Borough have secured one of their preferred primary schools for their children for September 2026 on National Offer Day.

Data released by our school admissions team today (Thursday 16 April) shows that 90.53 per cent of families received their first choice from the total of 1,859 applications, with 6.03 per cent awarded second choice and 1.18 percent for third choice.
St Helens Borough Council's Director of Children and Young People, Paula Swindlehurst, said:
"We're fortunate to have a wealth of Outstanding and Good-rated primary schools in the borough and I hope that parents and carers are pleased with the schools their children have been allocated for September 2026.
"Our school admissions team continues to demonstrate exceptional dedication, ensuring that more than 97 per cent of families receive one of their preferred choices. This is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the team in meeting our statutory responsibilities to provide every child with a school place."
