Article date: 2 April 2026

The free drop‑in event on Wednesday 8 April,10am to 4pm, will bring together a range of local partners at the start of the Spring season - offering activities, demonstrations and practical advice to support residents across the north of the borough.

The event aims to connect residents with the range of services operating in the community and closer to them than ever before as part of St Helens Borough Council's Community Hub provision.

Among them are services that enhance wellbeing, safety, and community pride, while offering fun, family‑friendly activities and opportunities to get involved locally.

Throughout the day, visitors will be able to:

  • See inside a fire engine and meet the crew from Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service
  • Join a community litter pick led by Torus
  • Enjoy library‑run craft activities suitable for all ages
  • Get bikes checked and marked with the Road Safety team
  • Receive free bike maintenance
  • Get help from the council's Affordable Warmth Team on saving energy and reducing bills
  • Access stop‑smoking advice and support services
  • Meet Merseyside Police, accompanied by horses from their Mounted Section if possible
  • Speak to the council's Safer Communities Team about keeping neighbourhoods safe and supported

Tanya Wilcock, Director of Communities for St Helens Borough Council, said: "Spring into Action Day is about bringing the community together as we look forward to a wonderful Spring season, showcasing the brilliant services available at North Community Hub and giving residents a chance to get involved, learn something new, and meet the teams working hard to support you in your neighbourhood."

Drop in 10am to 4pm, Wednesday 8 April at North Community Hub (former Moss Bank Children's Centre), Kentmere Avenue.
