Exclusive digital workout tech completes gym refurbishment at Queen's Park Health and Fitness
St Helens Borough Council's leisure service Go Active is pleased to present the fully refurbished gym facilities at Queens Park Health and Fitness, representing a £225,000 investment.

In January the gym received a full suite of the latest Precor cardio machines, allowing members to engage with their own entertainment and fitness content on the HD consoles while they exercise, making workouts more enjoyable and personal.
The strength area was also fully upgraded with best-in-class Precor equipment, celebrated for its exceptional durability and ergonomic design. It offers a comprehensive range of options, including resistance and plate-loaded machines, free weights, racks, and cable stations, complemented by popular equipment like GluteBuilder, ensuring variety for everyone from beginners to experienced gym-goers.
And now a new standout feature completes the refurbishment, with the addition of EGYM - an easy-to-use, digital workout system that adjusts to you. It tests members' fitness levels, guides their workouts, and updates automatically as they improve, keeping sessions effective, motivating, and tailored to each person.
Typically exclusive to high-end, upmarket, private gyms, EGYM is now available at Queen's Park Health and Fitness - one of only three commercial and council operators providing this service across the North West.
EGYM scans your body, sets your ideal resistance, and adapts automatically as you progress. Whether you're new to the gym, returning after a break, or managing an injury, EGYM takes out the guesswork. Tap your wristband, take your seat, and the machine sets everything for you, including weight, range of motion and tempo. It's simple, smart and designed around your body.
Kevin Prior from Precor said: "This project brings together world-leading fitness equipment and some of the most advanced training technology available today. The integration of Precor and EGYM creates a seamless experience that supports gym users by providing them with the tools needed to deliver consistent, measurable results in an accessible and enjoyable environment."
Councillor Sue Murphy MBE, Cabinet Member for Localities, Culture and Heritage, said: "We work hard to deliver high-quality sports and leisure facilities that give people in the borough the means and motivation to keep active and healthy. This is a great project where we've delivered a complete overhaul of the gym to ensure that all customers have access to the latest equipment and can exercise in a pleasant and welcoming environment."
