St Helens' brand new full fibre internet network is live: new connections and new business opportunities
Elevate®, the leading provider of full fibre business internet and networks, is pleased to announce the completion of a brand-new full fibre network across St Helens town centre, less than a year after the project to better connect the town began.
Article date: 13 February 2026
The new state-of-the-art network, funded by £2.5million of St Helens Town Deal funds, represents a transformational infrastructure investment that's set to supercharge local business growth, bringing hyperfast, ultra-reliable business internet to St Helens Town Centre.
Backed by St Helens Borough Council and the St Helens Town Deal Board, and delivered by Elevate with management and technical advisory from Digital Infrastructure Specialists Founds Group, this game-changing network will help local businesses compete, scale and thrive in the global digital economy; a key part of St Helens Borough Council's Digital Infrastructure Project.
Councillor Keith Laird, St Helens Borough Council's Cabinet Member for People, Performance and IT, said: "We're thrilled to report that the network's now live, and both businesses and residents across the town centre can now start to realise its benefits. This essential digital infrastructure will help to make us one of the most digitally connected towns in the region."
Supercharging businesses across St Helens
On Thursday 12 March, Elevate, St Helens Borough Council and the St Helens Town Deal Board will host an official launch event for the new full fibre network at the BrewDog Stadium in St Helens. Local businesses are invited to hear presentations and take part in discussions on how to make the most of high-speed, reliable internet, and learn how the project is helping to boost the local economy and attract inward investment.
Dedicated business WiFi and cyber clinics will provide the opportunity to speak directly with WiFi and cyber security experts, learn more about the project's social value initiatives, and network with other local businesses to share ideas and build valuable connections.
Councillor Richard McCauley, Cabinet Member for Regeneration at St Helens Borough Council, said: "As outlined in our Inclusive Growth Strategy, improving digital infrastructure is a key part of our efforts to improve connectivity in St Helens Borough supporting businesses to start, grow and thrive here and providing residents and visitors with fast reliable internet. The completion of this transformational project is another success of the St Helens Town Deal funding and demonstrates our commitment to delivering projects that will benefit our residents now and for generations to come."
Business owners in St Helens can request a seat at the event.
Andy Tatlock, Chief Revenue Officer at Elevate, said, "Taking the network from contract to completion in less than a year is a proud moment for everyone involved in the project, and due in no small part to the close working relationship between Elevate, St Helens Borough Council and infrastructure and programme delivery experts, the Founds Group.
"This new digital infrastructure will give local businesses the speed, reliability and resilience they need to plan and scale confidently; unlocking opportunity, attracting investment and helping businesses across St Helens thrive."
Building social value across the borough
The project is also creating positive social impact across the borough by improving education, inclusion and digital access. This includes funding careers and education support for SEND young people, providing hundreds of online lessons for vulnerable learners, and delivering free high-speed internet to support people with disabilities, community services and digital inclusion in St Helens. Thrive and Tute, two of the organisations supporting these initiatives with Elevate, will also speak at the BrewDog Stadium on the 12th March.
