Rainford in Bloom Tree Planting

As part of this ongoing partnership, four new standard trees have been successfully planted as part of the council's wider seasonal tree planting, marking a significant step in improving the green space for the local community.

This initiative reflects the partnership's shared commitment to sustainability, biodiversity, and creating welcoming outdoor spaces for residents and visitors alike. The newly planted trees will not only contribute to the park's natural beauty but also support local wildlife and help combat climate change.

Previously, Saint-Gobain have kindly provided Rainford in Bloom with the necessary funding, allowing council parks and open spaces officers to install a new footpath, benches and to prepare the ground for some additional wildflower swathes to be sewn.

Councillor Tracy Dickinson, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods and Environmental Services, said:

"It's always great when local people come together to do good for the place they live, when local businesses can back that work in their community, and when we're able to support both by implementing upgrades and enhancements as part of our wider service to the borough.

"We look forward to working in partnership again in the future to deliver further improvements to the parks and open spaces within Rainford.

"Our partnership with Rainford in Bloom and Saint-Gobain is a model for what we can achieve when we work together, and it's our hope that we can replicate that success in other parts of the borough."
